My ceiling fan remote stop working, I'm getting a red light from the remote but it stop controlling the lights and fan. How can I check if the receiver is bad or not?, is there a way to reset the receiver?

Check the dip switches first. Make sure they match. Chances are it is the receiver, the only way to confirm is to replace one or the other.
