If a salary contract has been signed, can copany later deduct wages for missed time from work?

This should be spelled out in the contract. I would have to ask how much time is being missed, was an extended leave asked for?

The issue here is, can they, of course they can, are they in violation of the contract, maybe that depends on the exact terms of the contract. What happens, if they do, then you will have to go either to mediation, or to sue them.

Depends on what the contract says

Unless you have a contract that says you are allowed to miss time and be paid for it, than time may be deducted for a salaried exempt employee if they are gone for one whole day. Half days and partial days may not be deducted, however vacation or personal time may be used.

Employment contracts generally only address wages and vacation time and maybe longevity of employment.

Hours worked are governed by the Department of Labor wage and hour division. Exempt employees may be docked for being off a full day of time for personal reasons. Vacation and personal time is not regulated by the government regulations for usage it is considered a fringe benefit and is between the employer and the employee. Unless specifics are addressed in the contract addressing the issue in a specific manner the department of employment doesn't care from which fund the salaried wages are paid, as long as the full amount is paid for partial day absences.

That ruling can be found at the U.S. Department of Labor website under the fair pay provision:
