A servo motor is a type of motor that is typically used to control position. Unlike a stepper motor, the position is controlled by an analog signal.

In a robot, a servo could be used to control anything from steering to a camera's position.

Simple examples: Camera focusing lens
Radio Conrolled Servo motors
X-Y recorders
Grippers on a robot with a force sensor.

Generalyt there is some sort of feedbaclkand the motor will change it's velociy and accelleration to make it's feedmack null.
