no, support can be based on need of the child, things like medical insurance, even private schools and thier life style is considered often for payments beyond normal support.

But why in heavens name do you not want it though the court ?
To me it sounds like he knows he will have to pay alot ( ALOT) more if you went to court and he is trying to scare or control you into not dong it.

I would go and talk to an attorney who is an expert at child support and have them tell you what you should be able to expect. And you should have the child custody order and child support order official in the court for your own protection

Thank you for your reply. That is what I expected to hear. I have a lot of other legal things to take care of before I worry about child support, but once that is taken care of I will take him for child support for the simple fact financial is the only way he wants to be in my sons life so I might as well get the full amount so I can provide for my son the way he should be taken care of.
