Hi, I have a mobile home(circa 1986) with a coleman presidential gas furnace. I have determined that I need a new thermostat for it. The unit is cycling frequently once the desired temperature has been obtained. I have cleaned it but nothing changed. Could you tell me if the thermostat type is a 24V type or something else. I have looked at the thermostat and it is the two wire heating only variety.

It is just a plain 2 wire heat thermostat. You probably have a switch over heat/AC switch located on the furnace if you have A/C. The unit should cycle 6 times a hour or there abouts if gas/oil fired. There might be a adjustable heat anticipator inside the thermostat if so set it to longer if you have one.
