My eight year old Janitrol heat pump seems to work fine, but when not running I hear a low humming noise coming from the outside unit. Any help out there? Jerry

It's likely a low voltage coil that is noisy either on the contactor, reversing valve or both.
Have a tech disconnect power and inspect and tighten all wiring connections and then don't worry about it.
