I have a persistent smell coming from one of our often used toilets like stale urine, identified by one handyman as sewer gas smell. I have had the toilet bowl removed, the wax seal replaced, and the toilet bowl base caulked again, but the smell goes on, at times very strong, at other times faint. The toilet is not clogged, and flushes fine. PLEASE HELP!

Is this toilet used by children? Have you checked for overspray and misses?

Have you used the sink or tub lately...? Possible to get odors from sewer if you have not used the tub/shower or the sink in awhile.

Let me know...Mark

This smell might not be coming from the toilet at all. You have other spots in your bathroom where bad smells originate. Run water down your other drains while sniffing around them. Any bad smells there? Let me know, Tom Sorry Mark, Posted right on top of yeah!
