I Need Help

Hey all, I had my friend setup a Bios password on my Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop yesterday, and I lost the piece of paper he wrote the password on. When I asked him what he set it up as he said he forgot. We've been trying all sorts of things it could be, but no success. I use my laptop for my work and it is very important for me to access it. Toshiba told me that it would take them a month to retrieve the password and there is no guarantee that they can. I was wondering if any of you experts out there can offer me a more timely solution. Thanks.

Hi,
Here is a link, which if you want to buy a new password chip, is offered here:
I am not sure of the "turn-around" time, might be less than a month, or more.

Just a thought. Best of luck.

Hi,
Very Good link by NeedKarma... a keeper.
From that link, I would try this first:
For the Toshiba,
Hold down the Left Shift Key, while booting up.

Thanks needkarma and fredg, but it didn't work, and I do not want to pay 250 dollars to get this fixed. I've done some research and I found a website that mentioned something about the parallel port. I guess I need to build some sort of device. Do you guys know anything about how to go about that?
