Sir,
I bought a new Lenovo 3000 notebook G 400 family.

Not knowing about pre partition C: and pre loaded DOS, I put my winxp pro sp2 cd in DVD drive and changed the boot up priority in bios and restarted the notebook. Windows started installing. With xp I repartitioned after formatting the H.D.D. and there is now E:,F:,G:,H:. No C:. And D: is assigned to dvd drive. My H.D.D. is 80gb SATA. Some mbs are shown as assigned to that hidden C: and I think some gbs are assigned to a partion that is for card reader. So far so good. A driver cd which has come with this notebook is for Vista and it has no drivers for winxp pro sp2. My processor is dual core and board is Intel chip set.

I downloaded drivers from the hardware manufacturing site(Lenvo)and they are in a folder on my H; drive. When I try to install them it says there is no space on C: and If I try to reinstall them or update them through 'Found new hardware wizard' it does not recognise these drivers and O.K. button is not highlighted.

How should I install these drivers ? There is a red button on key board which is 'One touch recovery button' which can put me back to original state but as I have already formatted the h.d.d. I will not find DOS or drivers on it or any utility now.

PLEASE HELP !

Thanks in advance and god bless you all.

Maskati.

If you don't have a lot of stuff already in it, I would go with the recovery to out of box condition.

Didn't it have an opp system already loaded? Perhaps you filled the disc with a second opp system?

Good Luck.
