Greetings,

In 2007, my spouse worked in NY for the first half of the year and lived and worked in MI for the second half of the year. I have worked in NY. What kind of taxes return(s) we should file? Thank you.

We need to know where you and your spouse lived - did you live in NY all year? Or did you move from NY to MI? Without knowing the details, you probably need to file IT-203 with New York as either a part-year resident, or a non-resident who earned income in NY. As for MI, they have a form MI-1040 , and you will also need to complete their schedule NR if you were a part-year resident of MI.

Thanks for getting back. I and my kid lived in NY all year. My spouse lived in NY for the first half and then MI for the second half.

Thank you.
