I live in Hawaii and am on federal probation. I've done almost 3 years and just paid off my restitution. When I first was on probation my first PO said if my restitution is paid off and I do half my time I could get an early release. Now I have a new PO and she said "they don't do that anymore". Does anyone know if Hawaii is different from other states? And how I can go about getting an early release?

First are you on Federal probation ( US Federal Court system)

Or are you on State probation for a felony done in your state??

Either way, if the PO is not working with you, you will have to get an attorney and try and file a motion in front of the judge.

Hello C:

Go here and read this. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/criminal-law/how-transfer-probation-115783.html

Insert "early release" where is says "transfer". The procedures are the same.

I am with the Federal courts. It's funny my PO seems really nice. I have done all they have asked. I have 2 jobs, I'm a single mother and this was my only wrong doing legally. I would really like to get off probation so I can take my daughter out of state to see my mother without any issues. Do you know if it's expensive to get a lawyer?

It can be expensive to hire an attorney. Try doing it yourself first and see what you can do for yourself. You just might be able to get released early. Last time I looked the laws for Hawaii were the same as any mainland state and federal law is no different there either for early release. If you have done everything to the letter - I'd say go for it.
