In the tropics is it necessary to fill perimeter walls 8 inch concrete block cavities with an insulating material like sprayed in foam to get maximum cooling efficiency? No heating is needed in the tropics. Thanks. Giddy

Insulation works for both heating and cooling. Any insulation you put in will benefit the A/C unit in its operation and also your wallet with less money spent for utility bills.
