I have installed a Hunter Programmable Thermostat model 44660. The heating works fine, but the A/C does not work. According to the display, the air is running, but nothing is coming out of the vents. While I know that the wiring colors are not always 100% accurate, I have the wiring set up as follows:

Red - RH
Blue - RC
Yellow - Y/G
White - W/B
Green - G

Any thoughts?

Yep. Only heat will work as you have it. What were the terminals you replaced?

You may have just had an R terminal in your old stat, in which the instructions should have said connect Rh to Rc and connect to Red.

Blue has a number of possible functions or may not be connected.

100% correct means the red wire is red etc. Right? <G>

The way you have it wired is for a two transformer system. If you have a real old system or a commercial system it may run on two transformers. If not you need to jump the RC and RH. What did the blue go to on your old thermostat?

The system is a new carrier system, the house was built in 2006. The old thermostat is a very simple carrier thermostat where:

Red - R
Blue - C (I'm assuming Cyan)
Yellow - Y
White - W
Green - G

In the instructions for the system, it said for 5 wire systems to not jump the RC and RH. The being said, should I try to jump the RC and RH?

I did re-install the old thermostats last night and everything is working well. At least I know that this is not a A/C or system issue, just a user installation issue. I still would like to put the programmable ones back in. Below is a link to their manual showing not to jump the 5 wire system as a reference. Let me know what you guys think I should do. Also thanks for the help on this. I really appreciate it.

I wonder if the jump solved the problem. I have the same problem with the Hunter 44660. I get either the heat or the AC to work when I connect the red wire to either the RH or RC! Would the transformer break if I jump the RC and RH? I also have a sixth wire "Orange" which I connect to Y/O!!

If you never had Rc or Rh in the past connected to two different wires, then the transformer won't break. The instructions for the stat probably mention to jump Rc and Rh. Some instructions tell you to remove a jumper when you have two transformers. The c and h refer to cool and heat, hence this is the reason why only one works when you move the wire between Rh and Rc.

Ahshabon, I actually returned the units and plan on buying better Honeywell units in a couple of weeks.
