I need to get a pardon because 14 years ago I was a dumb 20 yr old kid that got nailed with Transportation of a firearm in Montgomery County Maryland. (not a felony, non-violent, non-sexual, no victims) I was given 18mos probation which I didn't complete successfully (DUMB KID). In the past 12 years since I was released from probation I have not been arresseted which means no convictions. And now this conviction has come back to haunt me. It is preventing me from getting a job, a really good one. I have found that I can't get it expunged with out getting a pardon. Is this going to be something that I need an attorney for? Is this a common everyday sort of thing?

You will need an attorney to do this for you. And no, this is not a common everyday sort of thing. Get a good criminal attorney. He just might be able to get it expunged even though you think it has to be pardoned.

You should look into getting it explunged, much easier than a pardon.
With either, you need to hire an attorney

Sorry Chuck,
Maryland Law is written that if you have a conviction you can not get it expunged with out a full pardon by the Gov. You have to wait 5 yrs from the time you are released from probation or parole to petition for a pardon. Once you get the pardon you have 10 yrs to expunge it. The question was how hard is it to get a pardon? Is this an easie process considering how the law is written.
The current Gov. has an interesting reason for this process all wrtitten in his Veto of house bill 607. He believes that this pardon requirement will help to track criminals better and no let violent or sexual offenders hide there past.

I committed a folen when I was 19 years old in 2009, and now am 23, and been off probation from this crimial in 2010. Can I get a pardon, or go to the court were I committed this crime, and ask for a PPJ until I can get a pardon

I committed a folen when I was 19 years old in 2009, and now am 23, and been off probation from this crime in 2010. I was young and now I am paying the price for my action. The judge told my lawyer that we can come back and ask for a mofition of a PPJ. I know that won't expung my record, so am I quaifly for a parton, or what do I do? I need help to get a job
