I have a Kenmore 80 series washing machine (heavy duty, cap. Plus, 3 speed motor w/ 5 speed combination). Model number is (110.) 22882101. For some reason the machine will not spin out. I was told the problem was with the gearbox. However, after having the gearbox replaced the machine still will not spin my clothes out. The machine will wash the clothes, but when its suppose to spin it won't (the motor and everything sounds fine). I used to be able to give it a push to start the spin cycle but now it won't spin at all. I've given up, is it worth saving or is it time for a new machine!

The machine might have too much clothes in it to spin. I'm sure you know that clothes get really heavy when wet. My guess is that the machine is able to wash because it is in a low and steady speed, but when trying to try the clothes by spinning into high velocity, the machine does not have enough power to do so. Try breaking up the loads. Hope this helps.

I wish that would solve it lol. It doesn't matter how big-small the load is, I have a load I'm trying to spin out right now its only 6 teatowels and it won't spin out lol. I just gave up and squeezed all the water out and rung them to dry :p

Hi,

I have the same problem as Smiley cb with the same model#, and series which we bought 2002.

Do you recommend buying a new machine or having it fixed ? -N

Have you had someone look at it yet? I finally got my machine fixed about a month or so after having several people from sears to come over and look at it... there was one guy who knew exactly what was wrong. It was something to do with the gearbox, and the clutch or something, get someone over to take a look. Good luck! :p

However smiley, back in march you also said "I was told the problem was with the gearbox. However, after having the gearbox replaced the machine still will not spin my clothes out." So which one of your posts are correct??

Are you a washing machine repair person?
