Help! My clothes dryer is rotating, but it is not producing any heat. The clothes are cold and damp. What can I do?

Check the 220 circuit breaker.

Your drum rotates with only 110 volts, you need the full 220 volts for the heat.

I am assuming that you have an electric dryer?

I do have an electric dryer. This is going to sound ignorant, but where do I find the 220 circuit breaker. We have a fuse box and one of the fuses is labeled dryer, but the dryer still rotates, so I'm not sure if that is the circuit you are talking about. Is there a breaker in the dryer?

I'm not too familer with fuses, haven't seen one of them for a long time.

If you take that fuse out, and look at it, does it look blown? Can you read any of the writing on the fuse itself? It should indicate somewhere on the fuse itself how many volts it can handle. If it does not say 220 or more, then that is not the correct fuse for the heating element.

Sorry I could not be of more help?

Chances are the heating element is broken. Call a repairman...
