I opened my freezer and the ice maker bucket was a solid block of half frozen water as well as the bottom of the freezer having about a 1/2 inch of frozen water in it. I took all the food out and defrosted the water, cleaned it up and then turned the ice maker back on to see if it was the ice maker. It started making ice again but only about 6 or 8 pcs in a 24 hr period. Then in a 4-5 hr period suddenly filled up with water again as well as the bottom of the freezer. I found a water leak on the shut off valve for the water conditioner and shut that off till I could figure out what is going on.

Is this two separate issues? And if so how are they fixed?

Do you have the temperature knobs turned up to the coldest or set too low.
Set them at the mid way number/letter and see if that helps
If you have it up in the coldest setting it can freeze your freon and make it act goofy.

Other than that it I am sure the leak has something if not everything to do with it

Sounds like you have a faulty water valve.

prplgnie - AS herold said it is probably your water valve, Sometimes letting only some water threw and other times it don't shut the water off ehen it is susposed. Also it could be the ice cube maker it self , out of adjustment. I would check both of them . You may have to get a appliance repairman out to check it out for you . Good luck & GOD BLESS >:::F.B.E.
