We lost our electricity for five hours. The gas furnace was firing but no blower operation. It appears that the furnace overheated causing a burning odor throughout the house. Should we be concerned and will it dissapate?

What kind of furnace do you have ? Brand and model number?

If the furnace is firing but no blower I would say your smell came from the blower or board going bad. If the blower will run when you turn your thermostat fan switch to the on position the chances are good it being a bad board and not the blower motor.
