Can staying out of the sun for a long period of time make my skin lighter?

It can prevent you from getting darker at least (and using sunblock).

yes to some extent your melanin formation wud b reduced but this iz not a way of getting lighter skin u have to use some good product but if your darker skin iz only due sun exposure than you can achieve a brighter look by avoiding the sun:)
