I have a Whirlpool Dryer (Model No. LER4634EQ2). I've had the dryer for approximately 8 years. I initially had some problems with the dryer a few weeks ago, where it would shut off in the middle of a load and I would have to push the start button again to restart it. Now, the dryer does not start at all. When I push the button, it just makes a buzzing noise. I read some of the Q & A's on this site and I believe that it is probably the motor that needs to be replaced. My question is, how much can I expect to pay to get this fixed? Is this something that I can do myself? How much does the motor cost by itself? Would it be better for me to fix it or just get a new dryer?

There are a few things you can do -- drum should turn by hand -- it sounds

Like the drum may have been bound up -- this would cause motor to buzz

Think drum rides on rollers in back -- and a wear strip on front door panel

As far as being able to price the cost of repair it depends what is done

And how long it takes to do it -- prices vary depending on who does it
