I am on H1B and came to US in March 2007. I got married in Nov 2007 in India. My wife recently came to US in Feb 2008 on H4. Can I add her my dependant and file jointly?
Thanks in advance for your help

You can file your 2007 as residents married filing jointly even if your wife was not in the U.S. You can also claim your own (not your wife's) moving expenses.

With your tax return attach W7 for your wife. Also file a statement that as a first year choice you choose to file as residents.
