I will be applying for ITIN number for my wife (on H4) this week (1st week of March, 2008). It will take me 4-8 weeks to get the ITIN number and I cannot meet my state tax deadline.
How do I inform my State (Ohio) that I have applied for ITIN number and therefore need more time to file my ohio tax?
Same question goes for my city which is kettering (Ohio).
Thanks a lot...

Do Ohio State tax return, but don't file. Pay the due taxes before the due date. Apply for extension to file if you expect to miss the due date.

Thanks for your advice. I have two questions.
1. What is the difference between Doing the Ohio State tax return and filing Ohio State Tax?
2. What form do I need to fill to ask for extension for the Ohio Tax guys?
