Hi,
I have moved from India and came to US on H1 permit. I am filling my tax returns for the first time in US.

I heard that when we file the tax returns for the first time, we could include the flight charges (from India to US) for our dependents under Moving expenses section.
Is that correct? Fyi, employer had not paid the moving expenses for my dependents so just wanted to find out whether I can include that expenses in my tax claim or not.

Waiting for your reply.

Are you married? When did you come to the U.S. on H1-B.
Note that your wife is never considered your dependent. You can file as residents Married Filing Jointly and claim exemptions for your child. For this there are some requirements.
