Hi,
I am on F1 visa and is in the US for 3.5 years. For the last two years I filed my taxes online through turbotax and filed 1040. I got to know now that I should have filed 1040NR instead of 1040. Will there be any problem regarding it if I file this year using the correct form i.e. 1040NR without using the amendment form?
If I need to file the amendment form, how will I take care of the past two years? Moreover, i went through the 1040x form and was wondering should I fill in all the information in both the pages. Or should I just fill in my name, ssn and the reason for filing the amendment along with the rectified 1040nr.
Please let me know.

Non resident tax return can't be filed online. F1 visa is exempt from residency for 5 years that is you must file as nonresident.

You must file amended tax return Form 1040X with properly done 1040NR or 10$)NR-EZ with "Amended Return" on the top for the previous years. If you owe tax, you will pay interest and penalty.
