AmorJade5683 Feb 24, 2008, 12:36 AM I need to find out what is the best form of skin whitening product for my skin tone (ie: pills/cremes) and which brands work the best.
Before moving back to the island of Oahu I was a tanish-orange complextion with a pale "hue." And now im a dark orange complextion...which products would work best for me taking into consideration the fact that I am constantly exposed to extreme hawaiian sun rays?
PunkChic Feb 24, 2008, 11:43 AM
You need to use a good sunblock. If you're using a skin lightener and are always exposed to the sun without protection (sunblock) then there is no point using the lightener. So use a good sunblock.
Bio Claire in my opinion is a good skin lightener. I am currently using it at the moment and is the only thing that is working for me. Bear in mind it might not work for you though but is worth a try as it's quite cheap and contains no hydroquinone.

I have been using Diana Stalder for about a month now and it has cleared my spots and slightly lighten my face. This is the only thing that has ever shown improvement for me and i like the way it feels on my skin. So i am still using it and giving it time because my face is about 3 shades darker than by body. :( So i am hoping in about 2-3 more months my face will be as light as my body.

Some people have gone 5 shades lighter with this (that I know of).
Can be purchased from a black beauty shop or the internet.

Mucho gracias for the feed back.

You are welcome. I get the Diana stalder from southgain on ebay. Here is the link
eBay Store - SouthGain: Diana Stalder, skin, baseball cards (http://stores.ebay.com/SouthGain-Enterprises/)
I use the Papaya Kojic soap and the whitening cream.
The soap may sting and dry your skin at first but after a couple of weeks it won't sting as much. You have to be patient because it took 3 week before i noticed improvement. The darker you are the longer you have to wait to see results.
I also ordered the Bio Claire because it seem a lot of people have gotten fast results. so i am planning on using that just to speeden the process and then i will us DS to maintain results.
sassyT Feb 28, 2008, 07:31 AM I also used DS. Only slightly lightened me too.
Hey punkchic, how has Bio Claire worked for you? it seems like it is very strong and works fast but a lot of people said it thins the skin stops working after 2 months or so..
I am planning on using it for 3-4 weeks and then just using the DS to maintain.
How long did it take for you to see results and how many shades lighter are you now?
Vicky_D Feb 29, 2008, 06:43 PM Why are some people saying that bio claire would not work for african skin or whatever when there's an african american woman on the damn cover of the products?!
lol I don't get it.

It is made in Africa so i am guessing it is designed especially for black skin.

You are welcome! you just have to be patient if you have dark skin because it takes longer to see results. For most asians i have seen on this site have had results in 2 weeks. But it took a while for me to see results. I am now using bio claire because it is supposedly stonger but hate the smell so i dont know, i might just stick to the DS and have slow gradual lightening.

I dont understand how you could get dark patches on your skin if Bio Claires supposed to lighten your skin. Thats kinda contradictory... (and concerning.)
How else did it irritate your skin?

The label looks Amateur but its still worth a try.
simonek Mar 14, 2008, 08:21 AM I used bio claire too and it darkened me also. I used it on my body the lotion
Gr8stuff Mar 14, 2008, 10:47 AM I bought Bio-clair and did a patch test on my arm, and I got a very bad rash on that area. Thank god I didn't put it on my face or anything. I don't have black skin BTW, so maybe it's made for Afican typa skin.
MOWERMAN2468 Mar 14, 2008, 10:58 AM wasn't aware of such products til now.
AmorJade5683 Mar 14, 2008, 10:32 PM I used bio claire too and it darkened me also. I used it on my body the lotion
I just puchased it on Ebay and all of my buyer's customers ...well about 99% of them had positive feed back.
I'll test a small area first
janice589 Apr 18, 2008, 09:04 PM I'm the same tone, too, and I've been using Bio claire for about 3 weeks and it works very well for my tone - it's lightened me about 1 shade. I even used it on my face with good results.
It probably doesn't work that well for other tones, though.
PunkChic Apr 19, 2008, 01:39 AM Bio Claire seems to be working for me. But I hate the smell. anyone else thinks it smells YUCK?
DS on the other hand gave me some dark patches on the corners of my mouth.

Have u tried using a skin toner or a facial lotion (toner + moisturizer) to even out the skin.
Vicky_D Apr 19, 2008, 10:35 AM Usually your local asian-owned "black" hair/beauty supply has bioclaire (here in America at least and I think in the UK...)

It smells gross because it has fragrance in it which I'm slightly allergic to: I don't know why they put that stuff in there either, it's better off without it. Same with the other useless stuff like parabens (cancer-causing), colorants, and alcohol.
Want2BFair Apr 20, 2008, 07:06 PM I tried bio claire and it didnt do anything :( i used it for 2 months before i got fed up and stopped buying it!

Did you use sunscreen?
On these forums it's confusing at times cause I can't tell whether people use sunscreen or not with their lightener when they say it doesn't work!
Simply Jane Apr 20, 2008, 09:09 PM what ever cream/pill you use, dont forget to use a high concentration Sunblock about SPF 30 or more (cream not the lotion kind).

Lovelee Apr 23, 2008, 08:43 AM I must say that Bio Claire works very quickly for me. It works quicker and more effective then products I paid much more for so it gets high ratings for me. Another benefit with this product is that it contains no hydroquione which is harmful for the skin. Just remember to wear sun block when you go out.
MaryJane92 Apr 23, 2008, 12:52 PM Where did you guys get bioclaire?? and what did you get from it? The oil and lotion?

Hey RedDiamond,
Well I have been using it for a while, then I stopped. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and my arms and neck are about two shades lighter. It is important to use sunblock though or u might come back to the way you were before. But my stomach is kinda taking a little longer to get lighter.
