What documentation is a company required to provide to support the dollar amount reported in the "Nonemployee Compensation Box 7 on the IRS Form 1099-Misc. My brother is a contract cross country truck driver and maintains the trucking company has not provided a detailed itemization to support a $9084.81 dollar charge to him. How should he go about getting them to provide them ths detailed info he needs to do his taxes???
I appreciate your help...

He should first contact the company and ask for a detailed listing of the invoices for that amount.
