We have a new Samsung front load very expensive dryer in a Gray color. When we first started it, smoke came out of it. Did anyone ever have this problem.

Not a good sign in my opinion; however, read the owners manually carefully for possible causes because I recently purchased a GE refrigerator that sounded like a popcorn machine every time the compressor kicked on. So, I called GE for service (under warranty), and the tech came out and simply stated "Oh, that's a normal sound. Read your owner's manual; its described there" and he left. So I did read it and it stated "You may hear popping noises for up to 5 minutes each time the compressor kick on.
