At our home, the heater is not turning on.
Service tech has identified the problem.
1. Gas pressure is around 2 wc instead of 3.5 wc. Suggested to change the Gas Valve.
2. Blower motor making noise and stopping short. Suggested to change this as well.
I was given an estimate of $900 to $1000.
Is this the standard charges? If I am going to pay $1000, I thought of looking into a newer furnace. I have talked to one agents (Carrier type furnaces) - gave me a ball park of $2700 (basic) to $4950 (high efficiency). Can somebody help me what should I do at this time?

Thanks

Suggested to change the Gas Valve ((adjust the valve?))

Blower motor making noise and stopping short ((replace motor ??)
Sounds like a rip off to me.
