Where do I find the source that shows expiration dates for the IRS 1040 forms? I can't find anything on the OMB website. I am specifically seeking the initial validation and expiration dates for IRS 1040 for tax years 2004 & 2005.
Thank you

What do you mean by expiration dates? OMB website? Initial validation?

in the top right hand corner of tax forms, there is a control number, which is issued from the Office of Management and Budget. It is generally on ly good for 3 years. In the case of IRS 1040, it is 1545-0074, which has been used for a number of years. I'm trying to figure out wcite when it was first issued.

"It is generally only good for 3 years.'' is not true. If you have a refund, then you must file it within 3 years of date of return. It you owe taxes, then there is no such limit.

1545-0074... sorry I have no idea.
