Hi,

I will be resident and married filing jointly for 2008. As a preemptive measure, I gave a new W-4 to my employer with the married checkbox.

My wife also works. The worksheet on the back of the W-4 instructed me to claim 0 allowances AND ask for more withholding, which I did. I have no other allowances/deductions (my life hasn't gotten that complicated yet... but it will :)

My question: does my wife ALSO have to fill in her W-4 in exactly the same way? (i.e. married, 0 allowances, and same extra withholding)

The worksheet in the back of the W-4 generically asks about the highest and lowest income, not YOUR income, so the numbers should work out to be the same for her...

Thanks!
