can i claim my new born child born in january 2008 on my 2007 taxes?

Not unless the child was born before December 31, 2007 you cannot claim them. Anyone born after January 1, 2008 will have to be claimed on 2008 taxes. Sorry.

Please don't try it as the govt can find out and then you'll have to pay all that money back and be in a world of hurt besides. Tempting, but please don't.
