About 6 months ago I broke up with my ex and recently I just moved in with my dad in another state, it helped me a lot and I finally got over her. I just started a new job about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I met this girl there. She is really sweet and she is very cute. Every time we see each other at work we always smile at each other and wave and when we get a chance we flirt. I don't know her very well, but she has told that she has had her heart broken twice, very badly and I think she is afraid of another commitment. I asked her out on a date to the movies and at the last second she cancelled on me and a couple days later the same thing happened and it seems that she never responds to any of my text messages. Its like Im the one doing all the asking. Last thing I want to do is seem like I'm obsessed with her. I really like this girl and I want to take her out and possible start to date her, any thoughts on how to approach it?

If she said yes she's probably interested. I'd wait a bit and try again. Valentine's isn't that far away. You could always get her chocolate or flowers and ask her then.

Well... she said yes, and then cancelled at last minute. Twice.

Did she give a reason for cancelling? I'm a bit stubborn and a bit prideful, so after two times, I would usually give up... but who knows, it's your call. I'd do the wait-and-see method.

You've initiated twice, and she's cancelled twice. Now you wait and see if she'll ask YOU to go somewhere.

She actually asked me to go to the movies now that I think of it and she cancelled her best friend came into town to surprise her and the second time she got out of work too late. Lately it seems like she doenst want to go out anymore, but I am going to the wait-and-see method.

Wait and see is good, but make sure that she knows you're "waiting and seeing." lol.

I agree with justcurious... Valentines is coming up, do something little, something thoughtful. Something that shows her that you're still interested and that you'd love to see what you two could be.

Good luck! :)

If she has been hurt in the past she is probably terrified of being hurt again, she might be worried that if you two start dating, she might get to like you and then you might hurt her.
Take it nice and slow, to show that you care.

Yea she is working all day on valentine's, so I was thinking of meeting her after she gets out of work and surprising her with roses and chocolates.
