Try all of the churches in your area; it may be best to go between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

Check with the local Lions Club. I know in my community, you have to get a prescription and then the Lions Club will get a pair of glasses for you for free. There is a local free clinic for the uninsured which will provide a free eye exam and prescription for those who can't afford to visit an eye doctor. I would check with the Lions. Churches are a great idea too. When my grandma used to work at a church, she said they had a discretionary fund which was used to help people like you. Churches and other religious organizations can often help you find the right charity if they can't help you. Also, see if the health department can refer you to a free clinic in your area.
