Trying this again with the correct thermostat specs. Sorry, guys!!

It's a Hunter 44155C and the wires I have going into it are:

white - W/B
red - Rh
green - G
yellow - Y1
jumper from Rh-Rc

I have a single stage heat pump with a Honeywell Emm-3U zone control panel.

I have two zones and this problem only happens in the zone I have installed this new thermostat in. We also had a power surge last week and that is when my problem (A/C kicking on) started.

I had a technician come out and he said everything else is working fine (zone control panel, outside unit, inside unit and zone 2 thermostat), so it has to be the zone 1 thermostat (the Hunter). Then he told me the Hunter 44155c does not work with heat pumps and I needed to get a new one, but it clearly states in the manual that it DOES work with single stage heat pumps.

I installed this Hunter about 3 weeks ago and like I said, it was working fine before a power surge about 10 days ago. I do have an orange wire sticking out, but it was never attached to anything on the old thermostat and it is also not attached to anything on the zone control panel.
