hello, i want to know how much federal tax will i get back if my earnings were 38,155.76 and fed witholding was 2,429.25

What is your filing status ? Single or Married etc
Do you have any other income or expenses ?
If you have no other income than you owe $1,591 in terms of Federal Tax.

This will depend on what your filing status is and just how many dependents you can claim. This will vary wildly in the amount you will get back. Try the Turbo Tax online version for free to see how much you will get back. They only charge you when you complete the filing and actually want to efile it. You can do both state and federal online with them.

I suggest TaxAct. They do charge, but only when you efile.
