hi, just recently i started losing weight and i'm beginning to notice my face looking kinda "sunkin in". i'm getting dark circles under my eyes (and i get plenty of sleep), and my cheekbones are sticking out more. the rest of my body looks great but not my face. does anybody out there know what could help diminish the circles. i also started using oil of olay under eye serum and that hasn't helped either. do cucumbers really work?

Blondie, the skin under the eyes is the thinnest on the body. The many blood vessels in this area can show through the delicate skin, contributing to the appearance of dark under-eye circles, especially if the vessels become dilated. Fat pads surround the eyes, and the muscles that enclose the upper and lower eyelids hold the fat pads (and skin) in place. As we age, skin and muscle lose elasticity, which can result in sagging around the eyes. Also, Dark circles can be aggravated lack of sleep, fatigue, allergies, overexposure to the sun, menstruation, or pregnancy. And they're usually hereditary, if your parents have them, chances are that you do too. But their are ways that you can lessen the appearance of dark circles.

Try to get at least eight hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. Sleep with your head slightly elevated (when you're lying flat, gravity causes fluid to collect in your lower eyelids, which may create shadows. Moisturize the area with an eye cream containing nourishing antioxidants that help protect the skin, such as green-tea and grapeseed extracts, and vitamins C, E and K. If the circles look prominent, cover it up with a yellow-based concealer. Sliced cucumbers or sliced potatoes can also help to lessen dark circles around eyes.

Hi,
Please see a doctor. I am not a professional, but you could have some sort of imbalance in your system; ie, blood cell count low, or anything concering blood levels with thyroid, potassium, or others.
Only a doctor can give you a professional opinion, and maybe take a blood sample, to see if there is anything wrong. It would also give you a "peace of mind" by seeing one. Then, if nothing is wrong, go looking for some types of creams or lotions.
I do wish you the best, and hope everything is OK.
