I have an old Rheem REAB 1615 electric furnace. I'm trying to replace the thermostat and all the new ones I purchase (Honeywell and Hunter) put power to the green wire in heat. The fan control relay is normally closed in heat to run the fan on low. This is causing the relay to pick up and the fan to run on high like in the A/C mode. I have the thermostats programed for conventional electric heat-A/C, not heat pump.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thx
Rick

I finally received an answer from one of the vendor thermostat people that sell their product at Home Depot. In order for this to work I had to set the thermostat fan switch to say I had a gas furnace. This caused the power to stop being sent to the fan on the green wire in heat. In cool, it works like it should.

Just for information if somebody has the same problem.
