Replacing a thermostat. i have a heatpump with a thermostat that has a mercury swith. The
thermostat has 8 wires connected to it. I purchased a programable thermostat, however, it only has connections for five wires. Do i have the wrong thermostat or are there wires that don't need to be connected. HELP!
