Hi, Is there any way to stop Symantec corporate edition 10.0 's Rtvscan background process in Win XP/2000?

That's the real-time virus scanner. It is known to be a resources hog. If it's a computer you own, I suggest dumping Symantec. I use AVG and love it.

If the computer is at your place of employment, you're stuck with it.

Sorry I'm not able to answer the question directly...stay tuned; there are other computer experts here who may be able to.

This would be a support call for your IT department as all updates and scan scheduling is pushed to the client from the Symantec server program.
