Silk nail wraps are pieces of silk, linen or fiberglass that's cut to the desired shape and glued to the nail plate. The layer of fabric is applied and then one or more layers of glue are applied on top to provide strength. Silk wraps are not as durable as other artificial nails.

Gel nails are derived from acrylic, however, they are strong than acrylics. Gel nails are applied using a small nylon or sable brush with gel-like substance. They can be applied over natural nails or plastic tips, and can be worn with or with out polish. Gel nails are a little more expensive than wraps and acrylics.
