The shot is not meant to help you get pregnant, but rather to keep you from getting pregnant. The shot is given to women who are not getting pregnant for at least 2 years.

So, for you to get pregnant you will have to discontinue the shot and, unfortunately, wait until it is out of your system. This can take as long as 18 months for some women.

Can I ask you why you decided on the shot if you were planning on getting pregnant?

Please, I don't want this to come out wrong, but over the internet versus face-to-face translation gets lost.

Now, why do you think you are ready for a baby? How long have you been with your boyfriend? Do you have a career? Health insurance?

Why have a baby when you are so young? Why give up your freedom? You'll never have it again.
