screwed up this website. asked another question but it was actually an answer to my 1st one. can anyone explain how a heat pump is suppose to work? mine comes on, blows cool air and the green heat light does not come on when the blower kicks on. i have to move the stat to higher temp to get the green light to go on. sometimes it starts to blow warm air. and then shuts off. then it comes on and blows cool air. whats up with this. could i have a bad coil or a wiring problem. i know its almost impossible to troubleshoot with this info. but i have to start eliminating some things 1 at a time. can someone help me out. i will say i swapped out the stst with a used one the same that i had and not using and it worked right away but only for a short time. help!

Sounds like you have some major problems and they are only going to get worse the more you mess with it. Call a professional and have your unit serviced.
