I have an older Carrier furnace and the blower wont come on when the heat does. If I turn the heat up on the thermostat the flames ignite but the blower doesnt blow. I can turn the fan on with the auto/on switch and get temporary heat to the house but have to turn it on and off manually. Is there something simple it could be? I'd appreciate any help.

The furnace blower fan control sounds to be defective. You can leave the fan switch to on until you get the problem fixed.
If you know how to work on electrical items you can fix it yopurself.

First I would look at the sticky notes in the beginiing of this board to see what one looks like. Then you will need your brand name and model number so you can obtain a replacement. Sometimes you can order off the net but usually a local furnace company can get you the part. Just replace exactly as removed wire for wire and you should be good to go.
