I have seen many positive comments about TrendMicro in various websites. Hence I tried to use it today. However, after I clicked the Free Scan bottom, a new webpage came up, then that was it! I waited for half an hour, but nothing was shown on the screen with an orange background. I have turned my Security to medium level and enabled Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins. Do you know why it wasn't working? Thank you!

Hi,
No, I have no specific answer as to why it wouldn't work for you.
I tried it, and it did work for me; up to the point of telling it to install or not to install "Step 1: You may need to install the ActiveX control named "as4web.cab""
I didn't let it go any further, as I have all the Spyware protection installed now, and really don't want anything else on my computer.
Please try it again; maybe it was just an "over used" period of time for the website.

As Fred has suggested you may of been trying to use the site during a busy period.

Try completely clearing your internet cache (History, temp files etc) and try again at a different time of day.

Also Trend Housecall ONLY works with Internet Explorer, no other browser are supported.

Thank you very much for your replies. I just tried it. It seemed to be stuck after the new window popped up. To the left side of the window there is a column. On the top it says "Introduction.... ", then "Updating....". Below that there is a small empty bar underneath which says "idle". Is this what you guys see? How long does it usually take to scan the computuer? Thank you!

Are you running any sort of firewall app that maybe blocking the scanner ?

This is about the only other thing I can think of.
