Ok now I've come to a block. I wanted to install a humidifier directly on the furnace so I asked for advise. I had a proffessional company explain that putting one on the furnace is a waste of time. It will rot/rust my furnace and I should go with a floor unit??? So... I ask for a second opinion from a second company. They said the exact opposite?? Both companies had their pro's and con's and I did not get either trying to sell their equipment to me. I asked only for advise. Ok...... there are only two companies in my town... Ug-g. I'm asking for a third opinion. Help break the tie.. please..... my nose is bleeding from the dry air in my house as I speak!

well untill you decide,,,,,,,,boil some water on your cook stove,,,it will make a differance ,better than nothing,,,,,,,,,,as for the opinion,,,I think the portable job that sit in the floor or on the sink top do wonderful,,just a little aggravating,,,having to keep water in them,,,,but can be moved from room to room,,,the ones you add to furnace just don`t seem to last very long, plus the big bucks it cost now a days,,,so my vote is against the furnace installed units
