My sister in-law had taken the pill 'cabgolin' for 4 weeks as prescribed by her endocrinologist. Now she has conceived, but she is worried that the pill might have induced some birth defects in the fetus. Is this true?

Some women have problem in conceiving due to the reason that although everything else is normal, the hormones that should be produced to sustain pregnancy after the egg is fertilized does not get produced in sufficient quantities. According to the doctor who prescribed the tablet cabgolin (also called as cabergoline), this pill should help in strengthening the glands that produce these hormones which would help her in conceiving successfully.
