How do I figure out how many shares of common/preferred stocks have been issued.
& how do i figure out how much above par value the stocks were sold for per share.

Example -

This is the stockholders' equity accounts

common stock ($20par value) $2,500,000
paid-in capital in excess of par-common stock $800,000
paid-in capital in excess of par-preferred stock $350,000
Preferred $8, stock, $100 par, cumulative $500,000
