It depends on the machine all brands are different like people. What you do you check out the brand name (company) and see if they can give you a freebie like a mini cookbook or you can just ask them.

I think I have the same yoghurt maker actually. It has 8 little glass jars with white lids and they are contained in a white incubator with a smoky plastic cover.

1.Making yoghurt is easy, you mix 7 jars of lukewarm milk with one jar of natural yoghurt and then put the jars in the incubator (without the little lids on)

2.Put the cover on the incubator and switch on for 6-7 hours. 7 hours will taste more tart. Experiment until you get the taste you like. (Although the yoghurt shouldn't be disturbed until 6 hours have passed)

3. Take jars out and cover with the lids. Refrigerate for several hours.

To make flavoured yoghurts put a spoon of jam or honey into the bottom of the jars first, or try using milkshake flavouring in the milk mix.

Hope this helps.

The first time I tried making yoghurt I used soy milk and the yoghurt was beautiful - creamy and slightly sour. But then I tried using milk, and it came out looking pretty much like the soy yoghurt, except it stank to the heavens! It tasted really bitter, too. Is it supposed to be like that, or has something gone wrong?

Hi - out here in India we make yoghurt on a daily basis- the way I do it is I warm up the milk and add the starter to it and then pour it from a height from one container to the other at least 3-4 times to mix the culture well- and then I pour it into an insulated casserole dish (that keeps food warm for hours). This keeps the milk warm for a long time and helps the culture develop. It usually gets ready in a couple of hours- when the yoghurt is nicely set. Hope it helps. Traditionally of course we set yoghurt in clay pots

Dionwf...
Should I use the crockpots low setting? This would seem right to me.. Anyway I am going to try this today. Thanks.

Do not try yougurt in the crock pot. Even the low setting is to high. Use the link that skunkmann44 left. It is a really good site.
