My boiler filled up with water.
The pressure release valve was dry but water came into the fire pit and out through the motor. What happened?

Sounds like you have a crack in your boiler section. usually this meand expensive trouble. get a pro to see if they can rescue your boiler before you cause further damage. I would tell you to drain the expansion tank but with the boiler leaking internally that will not help.
