How does the taxes work? I heard about a comuting tax? Can anyone please help me out before I begin to work there?

There USED to be a commuter's tax, but no longer. You pay NY city taxes ONLY IF you live in NY city.

You WILL have to pay NY state taxes on income earned within the NY state borders, but NJ will give you a credit for those taxes which will make your NJ tax bill ZERO.
